Happy New Year!
I spent New Year's Eve with Marisa. She picked me up Wednesday night, we had In 'N' Out for dinner and watched the Sex and the City marathon. To be funny, we took vodka shots out of little sherry glasses. Classy. A couple friends from high school showed up and we toasted in the New Year. Sadly, it was just like high school...all girls. I slept over, but Marisa and I didn't go to sleep until maybe 4 in the morning. We couldn't stop talking about old memories that we had. It's funny the fandom shit that you'll remember. I just wrote this stuff on her friendster testimonial...
"You getting sick, you getting sick again, Stanford, Union City, Dutra, The Dolphin's Cry, Dido in the rain, Asiaphile judges, Vavra, randomly driving around for food, Jack in the Box, Boy Scouts of America Halloween costumes, pool parties, Mariachis, Filipino food in a little hut, Great Heart and Right Conscience, visiting me in DC, dinner with Mike and a Potomac view, Joy Ride with LeeLee, Garment District, Fake Spades, Yang Chow, guy problems, guy problems, guy problems, weird dreams, wedding plans, drinking vodka out of tiny sherry glasses, Rose Parade 2004! We went to different colleges, but we're still making amazing memories. I love you and thanks for putting up with my neuroses. You're an amazing person and an amazing friend."
In the morning her mom woke us up and we all went down to the Rose Parade route. I felt like a little child because I was so excited. I hadn't gone to the parade since I was six, and for some reason, I was so into it this year. I was waving and cheering for horses and the USC marching band. Back in the day, when I was just too cool, I probably would've just rolled my eyes and thought everything was lame. Maybe that's why my parents never took us again.
